[Umm – hey! Soooo it looks like I wrote this and then never posted it, for some reason. I have no idea why, and it was about 2 months ago, oops! But thought I’d post it anyway]. Hi guys! In a return to my usual schedule, I’m back to bright summer nails… Just had a little neutral-nails break there for a minute! I think I might have shown this nail polish on the blog before. I wear it a lot as it’s one of my favourite shades, but also it’s really long-lasting. Introducing… Soigne Petale De Rose!
Hola mi amigos! Welcome back to the blog 🙂 If you’re a regular reader, you’ll know I love trying lots of different nail polish brands, finishes and colours. I’m pretty much a nail polish addict! When I set my eyes on Tanya Burr Duvet Day, I immediately knew I HAD to have it! It’s one of the most beautiful coloured polishes I’ve ever seen.
It’s hard to describe, but the colour is sort of a gentle blue-grey. It is muted but still so pretty. This shade is so on-trend at the moment, but it’s also quite classic and could be worn to work.
Hi guys! I’m back with a gorgeous Maggie Anne nail polish to share with you! Sorry my posts are a little further apart than usual lately – as you of course know I have chronic illnesses; well I’m struggling at the moment and unfortunately just haven’t been well enough to blog as often.
Maggie Anne Nail Polish (Gel Effect) in Sophie
Now THIS little beauty is a totally new brand to me. Maggie Anne approached me and asked if I would like to try one of their nail polishes. After having a look, I chose this gorgeous vivid violet shade called Sophie. The photos on the website don’t quite do it justice, it’s SO bright and eye-catching in person. It is actually described on the site as a ‘cool toned lavender’ but is much more vivid in person. Although I was given this nail polish to try free of charge, this post is not sponsored and all opinions are my own.
Hellooooo! How are you keeping? It’s Friday! Hope you all have a lovely weekend. I’ve got another gorgeous springtime nail polish to share with you! This is Essie’s ‘Virgin Snow’ (although I’d personally be a bit worried if newly laid snow was pale lilac…. but nevermind!) I’m really enjoying my pale, pastel colours at the moment; a bit of a change for me as I definitely opt for bright, bold colours most of the time!
Isn’t ‘Virgin Snow’ a pretty, delicate shade? This is one of Essie’s mini polishes, from a previous set, but it is available to buy as a full sized one. As with most Essie nail polishes, it is pretty opaque within the first coat, but definitely needed a second coat to even out any brush-stroke lines. It has a nice consistency, bordering on being quite thick but not so much that it’s difficult to apply. I always use a top coat with my nail varnish to try and persuade it to last a bit longer (!) but this leaves a lovely, glossy finish so looks fine without, if you prefer not to use one.
I hope you’re all okay, and my UK readers are enjoying the sunshine we’re getting! I’ve got a few longer posts in the making, but I’ve had a lot of medical appointments this week so unfortunately today’s post is a shorter one.
The sunny UK weather has inspired this nails of the day, in these gorgeous pastel ice-cream inspired colours!
I used my usual Nails Inc Kensington Caviar base coat. I then used two coats of Barry M Fondant on all but my ring fingers. On my ring fingers, I used two coats of MUA Pistachio Ice Cream. I topped all my nails with a coat of Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy Diamond Top Coat. They’re a bit messy round the edges, as I was in a rush before a hospital appointment, sorry!!
I absolutely love these two pretty pastel shades – they are perfect for Spring! Both polishes have a lovely, creamy consistency and are opaque in two coats. From past experience, the MUA one doesn’t last too well before chipping, which is why I used that one on the ring fingers instead of the majority of nails.
Too much exposure on this photo – oops, sorry! What do you think of my ice-cream themed nails? Are you craving a mint choc chip or strawberry ice cream? 😀
It’s been a while since my last nails of the day post, hasn’t it? I was doing them once a week up until recently! I haven’t been too well and have been concentrating on hospital appointments etc, so my nails have gone a bit by the wayside (ie chipped or plain!)
Since I hadn’t worn any polish for a little bit, I decided to come back with a bang and choose two strong colours. They might seem a strange choice for Spring, but here in the UK it’s still really cold and we’re even having the odd bit of snow, so my bright varnishes are on hold until it warms back up!
I haven’t done a nails of the day post for a few weeks. I’ve been quite poorly most of the time, so my nails have been a bit chipped and crappy looking 😀
I used to buy things from Avon fairly often when I was working, as someone there was a rep. It must have been at least a year now since I bought anything! My mother in law kindly gave me this nail polish – it is part of Avon’s Metallic Effects range, in the shade Jade Reflection. It looks like a straight silver colour in the bottle, but once it’s on the nails, the green really shines through!
It is a great formula, it applies quite thickly but really evenly. I could probably have just about got away with one coat if I was in a rush, but this is two coats. I used my usual topcoat, Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy Diamond Top Coat. This nail polish lasted really well! I thought it might chip quickly as it’s metallic, but it lasted a good 4 or 5 days before it needed removing, which is pretty good in my experience.
I’d love to try other colours in this range (especially Copper Dream, which is stunning!), but sadly they don’t even sell this anymore! That’s the only downside with finding a product you like at Avon, as the stock changes so regularly. If you like this though, it looks like you can still find it on Ebay.
What do you think of this nail polish? Do you like the colour? Are there any Avon products you would recommend? Let me know in the comments!
