Mascara Match // Benefit Bad Gal v Primark Volumising Ultra Black // Can Budget Beat High-End?

Hey guys!  You may remember one of my much older posts, Foundation Fight, where I pitched several different foundations against each other (excuse the crap photos, I’d only been blogging two months then!)  Well, I’ve been meaning to write a similar post for ages now, but this time about mascara.  Here comes….dun dun dunnnn…. Mascara Match!!  Today I’m pitting Primark Volumising Ultra Black against Benefit Bad Gal Lash!

I’ve thought to myself so many times that people need to know how great Primark mascaras are!  They’ve been really upping their game with makeup recently, but two of the mascaras I love have been around for a few years.  I’ve been so impressed with them that I buy them over and over.  Another huge contender, and cult mascara-maker, is Benefit – who hasn’t heard of Bad Gal, They’re Real or Rollerlash?  Nobody, that’s who!

I was originally going to write about six mascaras in this one post, but it got a lil out of hand and long!  So I’ve broken it into three parts – the next two will be coming shortly, so stay tuned! [Part 2 is here!]

National Bed Month // Dr Botanicals Advanced Purifying Overnight Masque!

Hi guys, happy Friday!!  I hope you have something nice planned for this weekend.  If you’re a fellow spoonie and you’re stuck in bed, get cosy and watch lots of great films 😀  If you’re a regular reader, you may remember my exciting news: I’m a Dr Botanicals Brand Ambassador!  This means that they send me a different product each month to test, for me to review.  My reviews will always be honest, I’m not being paid for the posts or to say anything I don’t mean!  Last month’s super-luxurious product was the Moroccan Rose and Shea Body Cream – click on the name to read my review.  But more to the point, this month’s product is the Dr Botanicals Advanced Purifying Overnight Masque!

Who Are Dr Botanicals?

Dr Botanicals are a 100% natural UK skincare brand, who use no parabens.  But even better than that, they are completely cruelty-free and vegan-certified!  They are based in London and aim to combine a passion for plant based traditional thinking with the latest science.

Dr Botanicals use a lot of natural oils and plant extracts, as they believe they can make a genuine difference to the skin.  I love that they use 100% totally natural ingredients.  It’s so easy to claim to be a ‘natural’ brand but most don’t use entirely natural ingredients, as it can be more expensive and difficult to source.  There are no harmful preservatives in any of the products.

My first three months of Pregabalin Lyrica Experiences Side Effects Facial Hair Growth

My first 3 Months of Pregabalin & Turning Into a Gorilla!

Hi guys!  How are you?  Let me know in the comments, I want to know! 🙂  I thought it might be interesting to blog about my first three months of taking Pregabalin.  I know it can be helpful for those deciding whether to take it, to read others’ experiences.  In my experience, the side effects they tell you about officially aren’t necessarily the only ones.  Actually talking to other people who take it, there are so many common side effects not even listed!

By the way, I’m in the UK but if you’re reading from another country, Pregabalin may also be called Lyrica.

What is Pregabalin?

I started taking Pregabalin in mid-June this year.  I was prescribed it by my pain clinic, to help with my chronic pain (caused by ME and fibromyalgia).  Pregabalin was actually initially intended to treat certain types of seizures in people with epilepsy.  I believe it is still  used for that, but is also now approved to treat pain.

Tanya Burr Duvet Day Nail Polish Review and Swatches Blue Grey Nail Varnish

Tanya Burr Duvet Day Nail Polish // Review!

Hola mi amigos!  Welcome back to the blog 🙂  If you’re a regular reader, you’ll know I love trying lots of different nail polish brands, finishes and colours.  I’m pretty much a nail polish addict!  When I set my eyes on Tanya Burr Duvet Day, I immediately knew I HAD to have it!  It’s one of the most beautiful coloured polishes I’ve ever seen.

It’s hard to describe, but the colour is sort of a gentle blue-grey.  It is muted but still so pretty.  This shade is so on-trend at the moment, but it’s also quite classic and could be worn to work.

Chronic Illness // 5 Common Misconceptions // Expectations vs Reality!

Hey guys! How are you?  I hope you’re well.  And for my spoonie friends, I hope you’re as well as you can be given the circumstances!  When I initially had the idea for this post, it was going to be quite serious.  I wanted to rant about how people don’t understand chronic illness, and those who romanticise about ‘how nice it must be’ to stay in bed all day.

But now that I’ve thought about it a bit, I don’t really want this to be negative.  Instead, I’m going to take a light-hearted look at expectations vs reality when it comes to chronic illness! Chronic Illness expectations vs reality common chronic illness misconceptions Continue reading

Organic Aromas Essential Oil Diffuser Nebulizing Diffuser Review

Exploring Aromatherapy for Wellbeing // Organic Aromas Essential Oil Diffuser // Review!

Hey guys!  I’ve been testing this little treasure behind the scenes for a while now.  I was approached by Organic Aromas, who offered to send me an essential oil diffuser to try.  They also kindly sent me a bottle of their Signature Blend Oil to get me started.  I’ve never used an essential oil diffuser before, but I do use oils in burners – the ones where you put a few drops in the top and light a candle underneath, to diffuse the scent.  I really like the traditional oil burners, but obviously you can’t leave them unattended and they use up a lot of tealights!  I was given this product free of charge in order to review, but as always, my opinions are honest and all my own.

Organic Aromas Essential Oil Diffuser Nebulizing Diffuser Review

Organic Aromas – Essential Oil Diffuser (Radiance)

Who Are Organic Aromas?

Organic Aromas are an American company, comprised of a group of passionate, experienced health care professionals.  They have combined knowledge from Asia with new technology to create a range of essential oil diffusers and oils.  They feel that using essential oils in our everyday lives can help us develop a richer, full lifestyle.  I don’t know about that, as my lifestyle doesn’t feel too rich when I’m stuck in bed ill, haha!  But saying that, I’ve actually really enjoyed playing around with different oils and scents, and it has genuinely been giving me pleasure!

Organic Aromas sell a range of essential oil diffusers, mostly around the $95 price-point (approx £70).  They also stock hand-carved diffusers, which are around $175 (approx £130).  In addition, they have a decent range of different essential oils, including blends, pure oils and gift sets.

Back For Good // Where I’ve Been!

Hey guys

I’ve been dying to get on here and tell you what’s been going on!  If you’re a regular reader, you have probably noticed I haven’t been around for a while.  I haven’t published a new post on the blog since 11 May, which is probably the longest I’ve left between posting since I started blogging!  So where have I been and why?

A Tale of WordPress.com to WordPress.org blog Migration Woes!

Well, I decided quite a while ago to migrate my blog over from WordPress.com to WordPress.org.  If you’re a blogger, you’ll probably understand why I wanted to migrate!  If not, in short, I have a lot more control and options on WordPress.org, meaning I can make my blog even more ‘me’!  I’ve been putting off actually doing it for ages, because I was worried about losing all my content.  Well, luckily that didn’t happen, but my blog did basically break on and off for about a fortnight!  I had loads of issues, from my security certificate showing an error message every time someone came to my blog, to not even being able to log in to do anything on here!  Overall, a stressful nightmare!

Make Good Things Happen (blog migration woes!)

Anyway, now it’s done and I sure ain’t going to be migrating anywhere ever again!  It’d be stressful enough for the average person, but as stress can flare my ME and fibro, it made for even less fun.  Thank god for my husband being a web developer, as it’d still be offline if it wasn’t for him!  So I’m back, with loads of things I want to blog about and show you – expect my posts to be back to their normal schedule (probably plus extra ones as I’ve been dying to share things with you)!

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend – I’m back and loving it! 😀
