Hi guys! I know I usually ramble on a bit, but this is only going to be a super-quick post. I recently bought the Tanya Burr Cosmetics Luxe Lip Gloss in Martha Moo. Everyone seems to love it, so I just thought I would quickly give you my opinion on it!
My first question was… why on earth is it called a lip gloss?! I’m confused. Why is nobody talking about this?! Haha. So Martha Moo is actually a matte liquid lipstick – I have no idea why she decided to call it a lip gloss. If you’re expecting glossy lips, you’re going to be sorely disappointed! I’m sure you know this already, but if you don’t, the name is inspired by Tanya’s dog, Martha (very cute)!
The packaging is lovely, really pretty just like the rest of Tanya’s cosmetics range. The colour itself is gorgeous, I really liked it when I swatched it!
Martha Moo is a sort of muted, dusty pink colour. Hard to describe but very pretty! I also imagine this shade would suit a lot of people, with different skin tones. The lipstick (I refuse to say gloss!) dries down quickly and is pretty transfer proof.
My only issue with Martha Moo is that it’s a very dry formula. I found it quite difficult to apply, as it didn’t smooth over the lips easily. It sorted of dragged over the skin and I had to keep going back and covering patches it had missed. I also personally found it hard to get a neat line around the outside of my lips with Martha Moo. It also left my lips very dry and textured looking. I wear liquid lipstick a lot, so I am fully aware that they’re drying but usually find them comfortable enough to apply and wear. I just wish this one was just a touch smoother and less drying!
I love the shade, so I probably will wear it every so often. I’ll save it for occasions when I’m not going to be wearing my makeup more than a few hours. I can put up with how drying it is for that long!
I’ve read loads of glowing reviews of Martha Moo, so I’m not sure why it wasn’t the same for me. If you’ve tried it, drop me a comment and let me know how you found the formula!
