Hey guys! How are you? I hope you’re doing well…or better than me at least! Safe to say I’m not dealing with the current heatwave in England very well!! If you’re a regular over here, you’ll know that I am a proud Dr Botanicals ambassador. They very kindly send me a product once a month, which I test out and report back to you guys about (along with a discount)! I’m not being paid for my reviews and all opinions are totally honest and completely my own! This month’s product is a great multi-tasker, the Dr Botanicals Cleanse & Tone.
Who are Dr Botanicals?
Dr Botanicals are a 100% natural UK skincare brand, who use no parabens. Even better, they are completely cruelty-free and vegan-certified! They are based in London and aim to combine a passion for plant based traditional thinking with the latest science.
Dr Botanicals use a lot of natural oils and plant extracts, as they believe these can make a genuine difference to the skin. I really like that they use 100% natural ingredients. It’s very easy to claim to be a ‘natural’ brand, however most don’t use entirely natural ingredients, as it can be more expensive and difficult to source. There are no harmful preservatives in any of the Dr Botanicals products.
My Thoughts on Dr Botanicals Cleanse & Tone
As with all their products, the Dr Botanicals Cleanse & Tone comes in brown secondary packaging which has information about the product on it. The first thing I noticed about this product is that it has a pump – mega points for that!! I love anything that comes with a pump as it just makes total sense. Messing around unscrewing or flipping open a lid when you’ve got wet hands is not the one.
You can tell Dr Botanicals never skimp on their packaging. Although it’s pretty understated, everything is good quality and not just the cheapest available. As with everything else I’ve tried, this is also a glass jar.
You get 100ml of cleanser, which is a pretty standard amount. Funnily enough, my first impression was the same as it pretty much always seems to be about Dr Botanicals products – it smells great! Everything I’ve tried from them smells gorgeous, and the Cleanse & Tone is no exception. I could tell without even reading the information that it contains elderflower. I love the scent of elderflower, so it’s a huge plus for me!
It’s a light, creamy formula which feels nice and gentle on my skin. I wouldn’t personally use it to remove makeup but that’s the same for any cleanser I use. I always remove eye makeup and foundation with micellar water and cotton pads, before cleansing ‘properly’. You can rub this in to your face and wash off with a flannel, or mix it with water in your hands and massage into the skin.
Dr.Botanicals Cleanse & Tone is a 2-in-1 skincare product, combining the essential steps of cleansing and toning the face into one quick one. It contains:
Elderflower extract: balances the skin’s natural PH levels, whilst moisturising and brightening the complexion. Gives radiant skin.
Peppermint, Eucalyptus oil and Vitamins B5 & E: ensure the skin is protected and invigorated.
Aloe Vera, together with Cucumber Extract and Hazel Water: soothes skin, and preps it for the rest of your skincare regime.
Dr Botanicals Cleanse & Tone is infused with a mixture of essential oils and elderflower extract to restore the PH balance to your skin. This helps prevent dry or oily skin, whilst healing and soothing inflamed irritated skin. I have oily/combination skin and have found it really nice and gentle.
As with all their products, Dr Botanicals Cleanse & Tone is vegan-certified, cruelty-free and made only of natural ingredients.
