As you’re reading this, I will be getting ready to be a bridesmaid for one of my best friend’s weddings. But I didn’t want to leave you without any posts, so I have scheduled this to keep you entertained 🙂
Pastille is a gorgeous little nail and beauty bar situated at Granary Wharf in central Leeds (behind the train station). It has only been open a couple of years, but already has a very loyal clientele and is extremely popular with both the locals and also people who work nearby.
The staff are so friendly, keeping you entertained with chat and a good sense of humour whilst you have your treatments.
They offer a wide range of services, including regular manicures and pedicures, gel nails, acrylics, lashes and brows and various waxing services.
I was here to get my nails done for the wedding on Sunday (today, as you’re reading this!) I was initially going to have acrylic nails, but as mine had grown so well and were quite strong, we opted for gels instead. I just wanted a simple French manicure (a departure from my usual bright, neon and glitter nails!)
Olivia did my nails. She is excellent – she works quickly and precisely and always leaves your nails looking perfect. She does fantastic, detailed nail art, some of which you can see on her Instagram page here. The nail technicians always ask for your input, check what shape nails you want, whether you’re happy with what they’re doing etc. They’re always on hand with an opinion regarding colours too, if you’re feeling indecisive!
I had my old gel nails (neon orange) soaked off
And here are my beautiful new ones!
The prices are really reasonable for a city centre place, a new set of gels costing £24.50. They also do bundles – one of the bestsellers is that you buy a set of 5 gel manicures, plus you get one free and you get every soak off (value: £5) free – that’s a saving of £54.50!
Whilst I was there, I also had my eyebrows sorted out for the wedding. I generally pluck them myself, but have recently also had them waxed. Today was first experience of threading! I was actually quite apprehensive, as friends had told me that it really hurts and makes your eyes water…
The outcome? I don’t know if I just have a high pain threshold (probably, with the daily pain I put up with) but I didn’t find it painful in the slightest. It was absolutely fine. It has left them lovely and smooth, if a little tender, and I have already booked to go back for threading again in three weeks. I just need to stay away from the tweezers until then…
