Hi guys! How are you? I have been so impressed by MUA’s latest Luxe range offering that I had to share it with you! I rarely use lip stains and have never been that impressed by them, but this new MUA Luxe Inked Lip Stain line is a different story!
What MUA Say
What I Say
These MUA Luxe Inked Lip Stains are soooo good! I’m so glad I gave them a chance. Like I said, lip stains don’t usually appeal to me, but these looked so pigmented and I loved the colours. They go on super-bright and glossy and keep a slight sheen for the first few hours. Eventually they dry down to a proper stain, but keep total pigmentation and brightness. The pigmentation is second to none, I’ve never used such pigmented lip stains.
The texture is almost like a gel, and they are easy to apply with the doe foot applicator. I really like that you can keep re-applying these without any issues. You know if you re-apply or layer liquid lipstick, it can go all dry and crusty, and start flaking off? Well not with these! You can top them up and it just re-hydrates and adds a bit more shine, without any flakiness.
These are absolutely perfect for times when you can’t, or don’t want to, keep checking and reapplying your makeup. You can genuinely ignore them for an entire day, and your lips still look good. They still have pretty much the full colour at the end of the day, and still look groomed. If your lips are feeling a little dry, you can apply lipbalm over the Inked Lip Stains without smudging it at all.
MUA Luxe Inked Lip Stains – The Swatches
Dewberry (left) is dark, vampy purple. It’ll be perfect for autumn and winter! This shade will be really good for people who don’t wear dark shades as they are too high maintenance. You can stick this on and forget about it for the rest of the day!
Sangria is my favourite shade, and the one I chose first. It’s a gorgeous, fuchsia pinky shade with a hint of purple. It’s bright but somehow also really wearable.
I bought Dewberry and Sangria together. I loved them so much, I went back and ordered Watermelon, hence the different photo as they were taken at a different time! Watermelon is a hot coral-orange, which is so bright it’s almost neon! Such a pretty colour, and perfect for summer. Not that I ever have one, but I reckon it’d look amazing with a tan!
Like I’ve said, the staying power of these stains is insane! I haven’t tried this yet, but they would probably be great layered under a similar coloured lipstick. When the lipstick wears off, it’d be less noticeable, as you’d still have highly pigmented colour!
The above photo is literally after using a makeup wipe and washing my hand TWICE!!! Like I said… they don’t budge! 😀
The below photos are me wearing Sangria, straight after applying it. Then underneath that is Sangria after about 8 hours… it looks pretty much the same except a bit drier!
Overall, I absolutely love the new MUA Luxe Inked Lip Stains! Even if you’re not normally a lip stain person, give them a go. They are £4 each from Superdrug in store or online, or directly from MUA online. Superdrug quite often have a 3 for 2 offer on, so always worth checking there first.
