Hey guys! I recently got hold of the brand new Makeup Revolution x British Beauty Blogger Fortune Favours The Brave eyeshadow palette! Lots of people have been asking for swatches, so I wanted to share my initial thoughts with you. If you haven’t already heard about it (where have you been?! Lol) Makeup Revolution teamed up with British Beauty Blogger to create a gorgeous 30 pan eyeshadow palette. BBB is one of the most popular, long-standing beauty bloggers around so I knew she would produce something great. You can find out a bit more about her creative process here.
The thing that stands out most is the packaging. MUR usually have glossy, black packaging but the Fortune Favours The Brave palette is much prettier. It has secondary packaging, showing all the eyeshadow colours on the back.
Inside is a gorgeous, gold palette which has a glossy gold symbol on the front and the name of the palette – Fortune Favours The Brave. Inside the palette, the entire lid is a mirror, which is really useful for doing makeup on the go. The 30 pans of shadow are fairly small, but that’s to be expected as you get 30 colours!
There is a little plastic slip with the names of all the shades on it, which is really handy when someone asks which ones you’ve used for particular looks. There is also a better than usual brush – it’s a double ended brush instead of the usual sponge applicator. It’s not great, but better than a sponge one, and would work ok for just a standard, full lid application.
Fortune Favours The Brave – The Swatches!
I’ve only tried about a third of the eyeshadows on my actual face so far (although I’ve swatched them all on my arm for you), but the quality seems great so far. Bearing in mind this palette is just £9.99, the metallics are beautifully pigmented and even the darker mattes are pretty pigmented too. There are just 2 or 3 with less pay-off but overall I’m really impressed with the quality at such a low price-point. My favourite shades so far are Super Gold, Drama Queen and New World. And what you’ve all been waiting for… SWATCHES!! I have swatched in the same order as the palette, one photo per line in the palette, left to right. The names are on the photo above, so you should be able to see what each one is.
My Makeup Looks
Here are a couple of quick makeup looks I’ve done with the palette so far:
