Are you feeling autumnal yet? Or just already fed up of the cold and rain? Well I’m really not a fan of the colder months, but like a lot of people, I feel obliged to start wearing darker, more muted colours. So I’ve put my pinks and corals away (for now…I can’t guarantee they’ll stay there until spring though!) and instead I’ve cracked out my greys, blacks and berry shades.
This beautiful nail polish from new-ish brand Lottie London is a perfect combination of dusty purple mixed with just the right amount of grey. I teamed it with some gold triangle STYLondon metallic temporary tattoos on my ring-finger nails.
Lottie London, who launched earlier this year, have a range of beauty items aimed to help you get ‘selfie ready’! Their products include nail polishes (around 60 colours) and tools, makeup brushes, lip balm, makeup bags and metallic tattoos. They are apparently aimed at girls aged 14 – 24… now sadly I’m well out of that target age group but I still really like the look of most of their products. Maybe wearing this nail polish will help me look 6 years younger?!
The polish applies really nicely. I used it over one coat of Sally Hansen nail thickener (which I’m not sure I will repurchase, it’s really hard to remove!) This shade was opaque after just one coat (see first photo above without the gold accent nail). I applied two coats anyway, out of habit. I added the gold triangle tattoos to both ring fingers once tacky, and then topped it with Sally Hansen Mega Shine topcoat.
I absolutely love the colour and texture of this polish and also really like the design and font on the bottle. The downside? It lasted less than 24 hours before it chipped quite badly! Now I know this wasn’t due to the topcoat, as I’ve used it on lots of different polishes and it’s usually fine. I repaired the chips and topcoated again the next day but it wasn’t to be. I had to give in and remove it after 2 days of wear. I will try the varnish again with a different topcoat in future (just because I like the colour so much), but I’m a little disappointed so far.
I have another Lottie London polish (Blogger Girl) which I haven’t tried yet, so I’ll let you know how that one lasts when I give it a go!
