Nails of the Day (NOTD) // Nails Inc Gel Effect Polish in ‘Bond Street’

Purple, how I love thee!  Purple is my favourite colour (with pink coming a close second, but as a 30-year old, purple somehow seems more socially acceptable!)  This particular shade of purple, Nails Inc Bond Street, is beautiful – it’s sort of mauve, almost a very dark lavender.

It is a lovely creamy shade and opaque within two coats.  It’s very easy to apply, and you can take the big rectangular plastic bit off the lid and there is a normal little round handle to hold as you paint your nails.  I hope that makes sense!

This polish is part of the Nails Inc ‘Gel Effect Polish’ range, which boasts placticiser technology (anyone know what that is?!  No, me neither!).  Similar to the Barry M Sunset Nails range I reviewed a few days ago, this is intended to give a gel-like look and finish without the use of UV lamps.  It can be removed with normal nail polish remover.  The only difference with this one is that it doesn’t require a special topcoat, the curing effect is within the nail colour itself.

This is two coats of Nails Inc with one coat of Sally Hansen strengthening clear polish.

[Updated to add:  this lasted so badly!  For a £14 nail polish, I really expected so much more.  It chipped early on the second day and was unwearable by day 3.  I don’t know why it chips so badly, but it’s rubbish!  Particularly as it claims to be a gel-effect polish, so you kind of expect it to last longer than standard nail polishes.  This was a present, but I would never pay £14 for one of these myself!]

Thank you! I actually applied and initially wrote this post around a week ago so I already know.. it only lasted around 4 days before chipping sadly. I do have dry, flaky nails so it may last a bit longer on others, but definitely nowhere near as long as gels. Did you see my post about the Barry M Sunset Nails? They lasted a little longer – probably the longest lasting polish I’ve personally tried so far.
