You Beauty Subscription Box June 2016 Review and Unboxing

You Beauty Box // June 2016 – The Energising Essentials // Unboxing!

Hey guys – like I mentioned in my Glossybox June unboxing, I know I’m really late with my beauty subscription box unboxings this month.  As you probably know, my health is pretty bad all the time, but I seem to have been having an even harder time recently.  But I figured you might still like to see what came in my June You Beauty Box.  This is the box where you get to choose two of the products yourself, so my box may be a little different to others you’ve already seen!

June 2016 You Beauty Box

If you’re new to the You Beauty Box, you can find out about how the subscription works, how you can choose some of your own samples and the price in my post here.  This month’s theme was ‘The Energising Essentials’.  Handy, as if there’s anything a girl with M.E needs, it’s more energy!! 😀  Haha.  You Beauty say they compiled this month’s collection with the purpose of invigorating and preparing for summer.

You Beauty Box – June 2016

Two Chosen Items

You Beauty Subscription Box June 2016 Review and Unboxing Kiko Velvet Touch Creamy Stick Blush in 07 Swatches

Kiko – Velvet Touch Creamy Stick Blush in 07

This is the first of the two items I chose myself this month.  I was pretty excited to see this in the options, as I always prefer makeup items to anything else.  Plus this is a pretty substantial, full-sized product from a decent brand.

Kiko – Velvet Touch Creamy Stick Blush in 07 (Swatch)

This cream blush stick from Kiko didn’t disappoint – it’s lovely!  I only got into cream blushes in the last year – I used to avoid them thinking they’d accentuate my oily skin.  However this gorgeous, creamy blush gives a natural flush to the cheeks without adding too much shine.  The shade is perfect for my pale skin.  A big favourite for me!

You Beauty Subscription Box June 2016 Review and Unboxing Nails Inc Porchester Square Swatches

Nails Inc – Porchester Square

This was my second chosen item.  I almost always go for nail polishes if they’re on offer, as I know they’re something I’ll definitely use.  I’d seen this shade on other bloggers, so I already knew it was nice.

Nails Inc – Porchester Square (on nails)

It’s the usual nice, creamy texture that you expect from Nails Inc.  It’s a very ‘safe’, neutral shade, perfect for work or if you don’t want your nails to clash with different coloured outfits!  It lasted a couple of days without chipping, which is what I expected from past experience with Nails Inc polishes.

Two General Items (Received by Everyone)

You Beauty Subscription Box June 2016 Review and Unboxing Organii SPF 50 Sun Milk

Organii – SPF 50 Sun Milk

Hmm.  I wasn’t very impressed with this one… it’s a sachet!  The product sounds good in theory, as it’s an SPF 50 sun cream – I’d use that as I’m very pale, so generally use high factors.  However a 3ml sachet is barely going to cover one arm, so I’m not sure how I’m meant to get any use from this!!  I guess it can go in my bag for emergencies, but I think You Beauty are pushing it to use this as one of the month’s products!  It hasn’t happened before, so fingers crossed this is a one-off.

You Beauty Subscription Box June 2016 Review and Unboxing Kneipp Herbal Bath Back Comfort

Kneipp – Herbal Bath Back Comfort

This is the final non-chosen product, but I was really pleased to get it!  I suffer a lot of pain, so anything that can help towards easing that is worth a try in my book!  This bath oil contains Devil’s Claw extract, which claims to have anti-inflammatory powers.  Pop some of the oil in your bath and you should feel it soothe and release tension in your back and neck.  I haven’t had chance to test this yet, as I’m way too hot for baths at the moment, but I’m looking forward to giving it a go!

Overall, despite the rubbish suncream sachet, I’m still really pleased with the June You Beauty Box.  As I love the Kiko blush, and really like the nail polish, those alone are worth way more than the £6.95 value of the box.  I’m always impressed with the value of You Beauty boxes, given how little they charge!  I really hope this post made sense and doesn’t have too many mistakes as I’ve got some serious brain fog going on at the moment… fingers crossed.

Oh man I LOVE beauty boxes. Even if I literally only like one product the excitement is so fun! That nail polish is fab. I also really like that creme blush!! So fun. Sidenote-so nice to meet another person who is chronically ill and who also loves makeup 🙂 I was a makeup artist for 7 years before I had to stop working and I LOVE talking makeup with others.

Haha me too, it’s kind of like getting a present every month! 😀 Yeah the cream blush is gorgeous, I’ve worn it every time I’ve put makeup on recently. It’s the perfect shade for me!

Aww sorry to hear you’re chronically ill too, that’s no fun! 🙁 ooh so cool that you were an MUA, that’d be an amazing job! Xx
