This will be my last Lip Monthly subscription bag for the time being. I need to save some money and decided to get rid of this one as I already have so many lip products. I have really enjoyed the subscription and haven’t had any issues with it (a lot of people online seem to have had payment and customer service issues but mine has always been totally fine), so I would definitely re-subscribe again in the future.
If you haven’t read any of my past posts, these are the full details on the subscription.
So here’s what I got in my last bag!
Mirabella Velvet Lip Pencil in Red Velvet
I was so excited to see this in the bag! We have received the same pencil before, in a vivid orangey-red shade called Pop, which you can see reviewed and on my lips here. I really love the quality, finish and pigmentation of these pencils. They are really bright and opaque.
Mirabella claim this lip pencil is creamy and moisturizing with a fluid-like texture that glides on, creating a flawless satin finish with intense, long-wearing color. I agree with all of that. It applies smoothly and is easy to apply from the tube, with no need for a brush. It leaves a satin finish – not glossy but not fully matte. As with the Pop shade, once this was on, it did NOT BUDGE! It was indestructible! I again applied a bit of lipbalm over it later in the day as it dried out a little, but the colour was still vibrant. I love this and am really pleased to have two shades.
This is a little expensive in my view, at $25 (around £16) but probably worth it for the quality and staying power. Buy it here.
Beauty For Real Light Up Lip Gloss in Kiss Me
This is a really cute little product. I haven’t unsealed or swatched it as I am planning to give it to a friend as a present, as I don’t really wear lipgloss at the moment (it’s all about the liquid lipstick) and if I do, it would usually be a bolder colour.
The gloss comes in a cardboard outer packaging. The gloss tube itself is cool – I’ve seen this around before, but I do think it’s a fun idea for a present (especially for someone who likes going out a lot). The tube has a mirror on one side, that you can look in to apply your lip gloss. Then on the top is a little button you press which lights up the tube (you can turn it on and off)! This means you can touch your gloss up in the dark in a club or bar.
You can find it here (they don’t have the same shade but I’ve linked a very similar one, for $22.
Ofra Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick in Mina
Another product I was really pleased to see! Again, we have received this product in a previous bag, but in the bright pink shade Palm Beach – see it here on my lips. I was excited to see it again, as it’s a really pigmented and comfortable liquid lipstick.
It lasts well on the lips and is fairly comfortable. I feel like the shade is spot on for the Autumn and Winter. It’s a really deep, dark purple-berry shade which is exactly the sort of colour I would have chosen. It’s worth noting that it doesn’t dry completely on the lips, it almost leaves a velvety texture. It is still fairly long lasting though.
I think Lip Monthly are ahead of the game with including liquid lipsticks in their bags too – they have been a strong trend for a while now and pretty much all people have been wearing, yet none of the other beauty boxes seem to have featured one yet!
You can find this (plus loooads of other shades) here for $19.90.
ChapStick Hydration Lock Day & Night Lip Balm
This is something a bit different for the Lip Monthly subscription, as we usually get more ‘pretty’ lip products like lipsticks, stains etc. However it’s useful to get something so practical that everyone can make use of!
This is a double ended ChapStick, one end for daytime and one end for night. The daytime end has SPF12, is unflavoured, and it has an ultra-conditioning formula. The nighttime end is ‘calming chamomile’ flavour, and is intended to replenish overnight, as it contains tamanu oil, natural bbutters and antioxidants.
You can find it here for $3.29.
This was a great bag for me to end my subscription on! I’m especially pleased with the Ofra liquid lipstick and the Mirabella lip pencil. I will definitely consider going back to Lip Monthly in the future, after a bit of a break to save money.
