Glossybox May 2016 Review and unboxing

GLOSSYBOX // BEAUTY SUBSCRIPTION BOX //MAY 2016 // UNBOXING!

Hi guys

As you may have seen in this post, I’ve been unable to post for about two weeks as I’ve been migrating my blog and things did NOT go smoothly!  I usually try and get my beauty box reviews up as quickly as possible for you, so you have time to get one if you want to.  By this point, you’ve probably already seen May Glossybox reviews online so I’m not going to go into as much detail as I usually do but I still wanted to show you what I got.  So I guess this will just be an unboxing rather than a review!  Hope that’s ok.

May 2016 ‘City Breaks’ Themed Glossybox

This month’s Glossybox theme is city breaks.  They made four different box designs, based around the cities of London, Paris, New York and Berlin.  I have been to all of them except Berlin, and funnily enough that’s the box I got!  I love this month’s products, good job Glossybox!  Here’s what I got:

I really like that there were two makeup items this month, as they are always my favourite things to get!  There was also a great balance between makeup, skincare, hair and lifestyle products.  I can safely say I’ll use everything from this month’s box!

The Revlon Dramatic Definition mascara is lovely – I’ve done a close-up of the wand so you can see it; it really grabs all the lashes and leaves them looking long and fluttery.  The Hairon Zero Crease hair ties are great – really comfortable and they actually don’t leave kinks in your hair after you’ve had it tied up.  They are a bit bright, so I’d have liked them to maybe blend in with my hair colour but I’ll definitely use them around the house.

I really like the Absolute New York Velvet Lippie in Lolita – I’d never heard of the brand before but the lippie really reminds me of the MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquers.  They’re very soft and velvety-feeling, leaving the lips looking matte-ish but not dry.  It lasts a while but isn’t eating-proof, although it layers well so there are no issues with re-applying over what’s left after you’ve eaten!

Now I just need the sun to come back out so I can use my Hawaiian Tropic oil….!

What did you think to this month’s box?  Have you tried any of the products?  Let me know in the comments!

The lippie looks really good, I haven’t heard of the make before this box but it seems good quality and a very pretty colour. I like the boxes themselves this month too, the art is really nice and something different.

I personally think so, but it depends what products you like. I’ll try pretty much anything, so I always get good use out of stuff! You could always get a few one off boxes, or the 3 month sub, until you’re sure.

You Beauty is a great cheap one, so you still get to try stuff without spending much. It’s £6.95 a month xx
