As I mentioned in this post, my blog was offline for a little while whilst I migrated to WordPress.org, so unfortunately I couldn’t get my beauty box posts up as quickly as I usually try to. I still wanted to share what I got with you, as this month’s boxes were all really good! Instead of my usual full review, I’m just going to ‘unbox’ the May 2016 Birchbox with you and show you what I got!
As usual, if you’re a new reader, you can find out all about how the subscription works and the cost in this post. Otherwise, let’s get straight into the pictures!
MAY 2016 BIRCHBOX – FOR THE DREAMERS
The box lid is hidden under a scratch coating (like scratchcards), with two subscribers receiving a special message on the lid which means they have won a holiday! Sadly though, not mine….
The coconut oil was a little bonus sample, which is pretty handy! I already have two massive tubs of the stuff at home so I’ll probably get round to using it at some point!
I was really excited about the Spectrum makeup sponge (like their version of a Beauty Blender) as they are a totally cruelty-free brand, and I really like everything I’ve tried from them so far. I’ve only ever used a makeup sponge once before and didn’t like it, but I’ve quite enjoyed this one! My skin is bad at the moment, so the finish is a little bit sheerer than I would like, but when my skin is back to normal I think I’ll use it much more often. Plus it’s called Unicorn Tears… I mean, how cute?
I was also really happy to see another The Balm Cosmetics product, as they are a quite expensive brand, so it’s always nice to try their makeup before committing to buying a full sized product. Despite looking very red in the tube, this gel-like stain is actually VERY sheer on my lips. I wouldn’t wear it in place on lipstick as I prefer a bold lip, but it’d be nice for a very casual, natural look on holiday or going swimming etc.
I enjoyed this month’s box and always like getting makeup and makeup tools!
