Glossybox October 2016 // Unboxing

Hi guys!  I’m sorry this is SO late!!  I mean it’s basically the last day of the month and I’m finally showing you the October 2016 Glossybox!  As you may have noticed, I’m not posting as regularly lately.

As you probably know, I have chronic illnesses (if you don’t, this will fill you in!)  I often simply don’t feel well enough to take photographs, edit or write a post.  It’s frustrating as I have so many things I’m dying to share with you, but there’s nothing I can do.  Sadly, my health has to come first.

As you’ve probably already seen the October Glossybox around, I’m not going to go into much detail.  I’ll just show you what I got, and tell you if anything particularly impressed me!

Best of Natural Makeup & Beauty: My Picks!

Hey guys, hope you’re well?  This post has been a long time in the making!  I was sent/bought these products quite a few months ago but a combination of bad health and wanting to test them thoroughly slowed things down!  I happened to be sent a few natural makeup bits from two different companies around the same time.  It made me wonder how more natural products compared to my tried and true makeup favourites.  As a vegetarian and someone who cares about the environment and animals, you’d think I’d be a bit more ‘in the know’ about natural beauty products.  I’m not, but I definitely plan to find out a bit more, after testing out these bits and pieces!

L-R: Bella Vi Foundation, Bella Vi Primer, Benecos Lipstick in Pink Rose and Benecos Eyeshadow Brush

I was very kindly sent the Bella Vi primer and foundation, and the Benecos lipstick, for review purposes.  As always, despite this, my views are always honest and wholly my own.  I bought the Benecos brush myself.

Chaophraya Leeds New Menu Launch Transformation 2016

The Best Thai in Leeds? Chaophraya’s Transformation!

Hi guys!  I hope you’re well.  Last week, Leeds’ Chaophraya transformed its dining experience, and I was lucky enough to go along and try it out!  I was very kindly given this meal free of charge, for review purposes.  As always, all views and honest and my own.  If you live in Leeds, you’ve no doubt heard of or already been to Chaophraya.  As the first of many Chaophraya restaurants to open, it has been around since 2004.

Chaophraya Leeds

Confession: I’ve lived in Leeds all my life.  I’ve been to this restaurant at least 4-5 times.  But!  I’ve never had a clue how to pronounce it!  It seems that I’m not alone, as they have now adapted their logo to include the correct pronunciation: Chow-pry-a.  Hooray – I can now say it without getting it completely wrong!  Chaophraya apparently takes its name from the main waterway in Thailand, which was seen to breathe life into the families who lived along its banks.

My first three months of Pregabalin Lyrica Experiences Side Effects Facial Hair Growth

My first 3 Months of Pregabalin & Turning Into a Gorilla!

Hi guys!  How are you?  Let me know in the comments, I want to know! 🙂  I thought it might be interesting to blog about my first three months of taking Pregabalin.  I know it can be helpful for those deciding whether to take it, to read others’ experiences.  In my experience, the side effects they tell you about officially aren’t necessarily the only ones.  Actually talking to other people who take it, there are so many common side effects not even listed!

By the way, I’m in the UK but if you’re reading from another country, Pregabalin may also be called Lyrica.

What is Pregabalin?

I started taking Pregabalin in mid-June this year.  I was prescribed it by my pain clinic, to help with my chronic pain (caused by ME and fibromyalgia).  Pregabalin was actually initially intended to treat certain types of seizures in people with epilepsy.  I believe it is still  used for that, but is also now approved to treat pain.

Nails of the Day // Soigne Petale De Rose & Essence Pixie Dust Holo!

[Umm – hey!  Soooo it looks like I wrote this and then never posted it, for some reason.  I have no idea why, and it was about 2 months ago, oops!  But thought I’d post it anyway].  Hi guys!  In a return to my usual schedule, I’m back to bright summer nails… Just had a little neutral-nails break there for a minute!  I think I might have shown this nail polish on the blog before.  I wear it a lot as it’s one of my favourite shades, but also it’s really long-lasting.  Introducing… Soigne Petale De Rose!
