Five Things I Tell Myself That Are Not True as a Spoonie

5 Things I Tell Myself as a Spoonie…That Aren’t True! // Chronic Illness

Hey guys!

I think most people have thoughts that repeat themselves over and over in their brains, but that they would never say out loud.  If they did, they would probably realise they’re not really true…

We are all so critical of ourselves.  We would never dream of pointing out a friend’s ‘imperfections’ or telling them they weren’t good enough, but for some reason we see no problem in doing it to ourselves!

That’s what prompted me to share with you… 5 things I tell myself as a spoonie – that aren’t true!

The Light Salon Harvey Nichols Leeds Beauty Rooms

The Light Salon // Harvey Nichols, Leeds // 15 Min LED Facial!

Hey guys!  I was recently invited to Harvey Nichols in Leeds to try a new beauty gem which has opened up in their First Floor Beauty Rooms.  Of course, I jumped at the chance! The Light Salon, opened by Laura Ferguson and Hannah Measures, uses light therapy which was previously only used in the medical world, as they realised how beneficial it could be for skincare.  It is now becoming a popular skincare treatment, as it is so quick and easy.  It’s also completely harmless, and not damaging to the skin in any way.  Using the light in this way is known as an LED facial.

HD Brows Before and After Picture

HD Brows Leeds Training Academy // Launch!

Hey guys! I was very kindly invited along to the launch of the HD Brows Leeds Academy a couple of weeks ago!  Although I’ve never actually had a HD Brow treatment before, I’ve of course heard of them.  I wanted to tell you guys all about this sooner, but I’ve been too poorly to write until now.

HD Brows Training Academy Launch Leeds

HD Brows Leeds – Training Academy

Where is the HD Brows Leeds Training Academy?

The HD Brows Leeds academy is nestled down next to the river in Leeds City Centre, just over the bank from The Royal Armouries.  Surrounded by apartments, you wouldn’t know it was there unless you were following directions (even by satnav was stumped haha)!  Once inside, I was struck by how large, open plan and striking it was.  Everything was monochrome, bright and airy, and it gave a really smart impression.  Great for taking photos too!

Aspiring HD Brow technicians will come to this new Academy to be trained by Elite Trainers, like the one who did my brow-makeover.  HD Brows is a huge name in the beauty treatment world – by attending their two day training courses, brow technicians can then master the techniques and then freelance under the HD Brows name in their chosen location (within salons, at home, mobile etc). Glossybox April 2016 review and unboxing

Hi guys

I’m much more on time with my Glossybox review this month!  Go me!

If you’re not a regular reader, I’ll quickly go over how Glossybox works.  It’s a monthly beauty subscription box, so you sign up for 1, 3, 6 or 12 months to get one box per month.  The box will include five samples/products – they are always a surprise, as you don’t choose what you receive.  The box costs £13.25 per month for the month-to-month plan, but can be as little as £11.75 if you are willing to commit for a whole year.  If you decide to sign up, you can use this link which will help me collect points but there is absolutely no pressure to use it.  If you would prefer not to, simply google Glossybox and sign up there!

Lip Monthly - Are The Rumours True? Lip Monthly Speak out!

Lip Monthly Rumours – LM Finally Speak Out!

Hi guys!  This is a follow-on post from one I wrote a few days ago, about all the Lip Monthly rumours.  If you haven’t already read that one, this won’t make much sense, so have a quick read and I’ll wait here for you!  As I mentioned in that post, Lip Monthly subscription service is often discussed on beauty groups and in the makeup-loving world!  I subscribed to them for around six months and personally had NO issues whatsoever, but my interest was peaked by all the stories I was hearing, so I decided to do some digging. Lip MonthlyRumours - Are The Rumours True? Lip Monthly Speak out!

In response to my previous post, a few people commented with their own personal experiences with Lip Monthly.  Rather than reproduce them here, just click into my initial post and scroll down to the comments at the bottom to see what has been said. After my previous post was published, Lip Monthly got in contact with me by email to discuss the content.  Their email was very friendly, reasonable and in no way confrontational.  They wanted to tell me some of the reasons behind what has been happening, and were happy for me to share this information publicly.  Rather than paraphrase everything they said, I am going to paste the majority of the email below: Continue reading
